WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27 AT 8:00AM PACIFIC. Get overview of leading hydrogen hubs in USA and Bavaria-Germany, learn about collaboration opportunities and network with Hydrogen experts.

About this event
The German State of Bavaria's Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, Bayern International GmbH and Invest in Bavaria, in cooperation with the Center Hydrogen. Bavaria (H2.B) and the US Consulate in Munich, Germany cordially invite interested Bavarian and American companies and researchers to a virtual hydrogen expert exchange and online networking. Our goal is to intensify the transatlantic exchange in the hydrogen sector and foster new connections for potential collaboration between the regions. Bavarian and American participants will gain insight into the corporate and research landscape on both sides of the Atlantic. In the first half of the event experts from Bavarian and US Hydrogen institutions will introduce themselves. This will be followed by an opportunity for discussion and networking in breakout sessions led by our expert speakers. Please refer to the agenda below for details.

This event is part of the US Consulate's Trans-Atlantic Innovation Week. Participation is free of charge. We look forward to your registration by Friday, April 22, 2022.

Tuesday, March 29, 2022 - Tuesday, March 29, 2022

TUESDAY, MARCH 29. One of the clean energy centerpieces of last year's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was $8 billion allocated for the creation of at least four clean hydrogen hubs. While the provision signified the perceived role hydrogen will play in our clean energy future, the focus now shifts to how these projects will be developed and deployed for maximum impact.

This spring, EPRI and Hydrogen Forward, along with the Low-Carbon Resources Initiative, will host a Hydrogen Hub Webinar Series that will canvass current and forthcoming hub efforts as well as other major projects underway throughout the country.  Please join us as high-level subject matter experts breakdown the various feedstocks, transportation, and end-use elements of hydrogen hubs that will be critical as they become an increasing presence in our energy system.

TUESDAY, MARCH 29. Join the H2IQ Hour on March 29 at 9 AM PT to learn about the compatibility of pipeline materials with hydrogen and blends of hydrogen and natural gas. National laboratories within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Hydrogen Materials Compatibility Consortium (H-Mat) have led research and development (R&D) on hydrogen pipelines for over a decade in collaboration with other leading research groups and industry members throughout the United States. This R&D work has informed codes and standards that guide the design of hydrogen technologies. Currently, H-Mat is leading R&D on pipeline materials within DOE's HyBlend initiative to enable hydrogen blending in natural gas pipelines.

In this webinar, Dr. Christopher San Marchi will share the state of knowledge on compatibility of pipeline materials with hydrogen and blends, identify key gaps that must be addressed prior to large-scale deployment, and highlight opportunities and challenges when transitioning existing natural gas infrastructure to hydrogen service.
