THURSDAY, JULY 28 AT 5:00PM PACIFIC. California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff invite you to participate in a listening session focused on the topic: Zero-Emission Trucks – How Do We Get There?

The goal of this listening session is to hear experiences, feedback, and/or suggestions for how CARB can further encourage commercial vehicle owners to use cleaner technology such as zero-emission trucks, and better support them in this process. We are seeking input from the people in our State who are impacted by poor air quality and have been advocating for cleaner transportation and from medium- and heavy-duty truck owners, including smaller fleets, who will benefit most from improvements to funding programs and other resources that CARB is developing to support them.

Buscamos aportes de las personas de nuestro estado que se ven afectadas por la mala calidad del aire y que han abogado por un transporte más limpio, así como los de los propietarios de camiones medianos y pesados, incluidas las flotas más pequeñas, que serán los más beneficiados por las mejoras en los programas de financiación y otros recursos que la CARB está desarrollando para apoyarlos.

TUESDAY, JULY 12 AT 11:30AM PACIFIC. The LA region aims to be powered 100% by renewable energy by 2035. To achieve this ambitious goal, it’s essential that LA, as a home to significant industrial activity - establish global leadership in the decarbonization of heavy industry and major fleets.

Thankfully clean technology and policy innovations are emerging to drive electrification and the use of clean hydrogen at scale.

The LA region can show global leadership by decarbonizing heavy industry and building an electric-powered transit and transportation system.

CityAge, in collaboration with Shell and Jacobs, will bring together the leaders shaping this vision with a digital event on July 12, 2022. A follow up focused roundtable will follow in September.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 27 AT 7:00AM PACIFIC. Liquid hydrogen can play an important role as a fuel for zero-emission trucks in the future. It is the only solution known today that can achieve a range of over 1,000 km. At the same time, refueling is possible in just a few minutes, similar to diesel.

​​​​​​​In this webinar, Dr. Steffen Maus from Daimler Truck explains the advantages of liquid hydrogen as a fuel for commercial vehicles, shows the state of the art in storage and refueling, and the path that Daimler Truck, as the global market leader for trucks and buses, intends to take in order to achieve CO2 reduction targets.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29 AT 7:00AM PACIFIC - Hydrogen has the potential to replace diesel as a fuel for trains, especially for long distances. The gas company Linde has just built the world's largest hydrogen refueling station for trains in northern Germany in collaboration with a local railway company. With a capacity of 1,600 kg of hydrogen per day, the station can fill up to 14 trains. The range of the trains is then 1,000 km. In this webinar, Alexander Zörner from Linde and Maximilian von Bose from Alstom will present why hydrogen can be a good fuel for trains, how train refueling works, and what boundary conditions are needed for hydrogen to be attractive compared to diesel or batteries.
