Tuesday, January 18, 2022 - Tuesday, January 18, 2022

TUESDAY, JANUARY 18 AT 10:00AM CENTRAL. Join Nico Bouwkamp and out colleagues at GTI in this month's GTI Tech Talk. The world is driving toward carbon-neutral transportation at breakneck speed, and rapid advancements in clean fuels, next-generation engines, and fueling infrastructure are racing toward deployment of new vehicles that reduce fuel consumption and air pollution. A myriad of initiatives around hydrogen-fueled heavy-duty trucks, transit buses, terminal tractors, locomotives, drones, and more are setting the pace to enable the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Join us to learn about the state of clean transportation and the road to zero carbon as we share insights on the ecosystem of alternative fuel vehicles and fueling, delve into policy and regulatory directions, and explore major transportation sector activities.

Thursday, January 13, 2022 - Thursday, January 13, 2022

THURSDAY, JANUARY 13 AT 9:00AM PACIFIC. This is the second in our series of virtual workshops designed to help public fleets and communities consider if renewable hydrogen has a place in their transition to zero emission transportation. In this program we will focus on electrolysis technologies that use renewable electricity to produce green hydrogen. Beyond hydro power, we will also look at how solar, wind or other distributed energy resources could play a role.

Our panelists will address questions including:
• What are the chief technological and economic considerations, costs and benefits, and emissions factors?
• How practical are electrolysis systems for centralized or on-site production?

We’re pleased to announce our speaker panel:
• Dustin McLarty, WSU
• Matthew Weaver, NEL Hydrogen
• Cam LeHoullier, Tacoma Power
• Gillian Charles and Steven Simmons, NW Energy Council
• Gary Ivory, Douglas PUD

Tuesday, February 8, 2022 - Tuesday, February 8, 2022

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 AT 9:00AM EASTERN. The purpose of this workshop is to come to a consensus within the industry around the appropriate failure rates to use when conducting Risk Assessments for Hydrogen sites or projects. This workshop will aim to cover 10 -15 components, beginning with those included in the Hydrogen Risk Assessment Model (HyRAM) and ending with additional components identified by workshop attendees. During the workshop, attendees will:

1.) Brainstorm the different types of failure modes for Hydrogen components.

2.) Start with HyRAM data and agree upon or further define each component rate. A vote will be taken after each component discussion to confirm if there is industry consensus.

3.) Define rates for additional components not define in HyRAM. A vote will be taken after each component discussion to confirm if there is industry consensus.

4.) Discuss when do leaks become a hazard.

There is no cost to attend this workshop. The workshop is invitation only, please complete this form to request an invitation.
