Hydrogen Hubs Announcement

Last week, we welcomed the announcement by President Biden and Secretary Granholm of the hydrogen hubs that were selected to help accelerate the hydrogen economy in the United States. 

What began with more than 70 applicants ended with seven hubs selected to begin negotiations for $7 billion in funding. Each is focused on hydrogen production that is uniquely suited to their region and industries and sectors that will benefit from renewable, zero and low-carbon hydrogen.

California Can Achieve World’s First Sustainable Hydrogen Fueling Network

  • Analysis by the California Air Resources Board shows that the hydrogen fueling network for passenger cars can be self-sufficient by 2030 with additional public co-funding
  • Report finds that private industry investment will increase to 90 percent near the end of the decade

Sacramento, California - The California Air Resources Board today released an analysis of the California hydrogen fueling network for passenger cars and found that, with the right funding, the network could be self-sufficient by 2030. The report, “Hydrogen Station Network Self Sufficiency Analysis” finds that “hydrogen fueling network self-sufficiency can likely be achieved within the decade with additional State support beyond AB 8.”

We’ve added a new status symbol to the Station Operational Status System (SOSS) to help you better manage your time when you are fueling your Honda Clarity, Hyundai NEXO or Toyota Mirai.

SOSS Station Refresh iconWe’ve added an hourglass symbol to let you know when the station is in the refresh process. Previously, when a station was in this refresh process, it appeared on SOSS that the station was in limited mode (yellow triangle symbol) or offline (red square symbol). These moments created frustrations for drivers.

Oakland Hydrogen Station Opens

The Oakland hydrogen station is open for business! It is the eleventh retail hydrogen station to open in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The True Zero station, developed by First Element, will be open 24 hours a day and is located at 350 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610.

LAX Hydrogen Station Opens -#39

The LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) hydrogen station is open for business! It is the 39th retail hydrogen station in California and is located in the greater West Los Angeles area.

The station, developed by Air Liquide, is located at 10400 Aviation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045. The new hydrogen station is one block south of the LAX's primary entrance, Century Boulevard, two blocks from the 405 Freeway, and can be easily accessed from La Cienega Boulevard, several blocks north of the 105 Freeway.

Palo Alto Hydrogen Station Opens -#38

The Palo Alto hydrogen station is open for business! It is the 38th retail hydrogen station in California and is located in Silicon Valley. 

The station, developed by Air Liquide, is located at 3601 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94036
